Have you ever noticed that when you are on a merry-go-round, the world outside seems to zip by super fast, but when you sit still, everything is slow? Einstein discovered that time is a bit like a magic trick. If you could zoom around in a rocket ship super, super fast, you would actually age slower than your twin brother back on Earth! Also, heavy things like planets squish space like a heavy bowling ball sitting on a soft mattress.

🧠 Mental Model

Think of space and time as a giant trampoline made of stretchy fabric. If you roll a heavy bowling ball (representing the Sun) onto the center of the trampoline, the fabric sags and curves. If you roll a marble (representing the Earth) nearby, it doesn't fall straight into the bowling ball; instead, it rolls around the curved slope created by the big ball. That rolling around is what we feel as gravity!

Imagine that time and space are not strict rules, but stretchy rubber bands that change depending on how fast you move. Albert Einstein figured out this cosmic secret, showing us that the universe is way more flexible than we ever imagined.

Technical Deep Dive

Einstein's Theory of Relativity is split into two parts: Special Relativity and General Relativity. Special Relativity states that the speed of light is always constant for everyone, which forces time and space to adjust (time dilation and length contraction) depending on the observer's relative velocity. General Relativity expands this by stating that gravity is not a traditional pulling force, but rather the curvature of spacetime caused by mass and energy.
